Trying to find Captain America’s Shield in Fortnite?

One of the newest items added to Fortnite in Chapter 5, Season 4 is Captain America's Shield. This weapon will shred through your opponents while simultaneously giving you protection against opposing gunshots.

So, how does someone get Captain America's Shield in Fortnite?

Captain America's Shield: How to get it in Fortnite

With Fortnite's newest season revolving around Marvel, the game has included various items that resemble different Marvel characters. Doctor Doom's Gauntlets and Captain America's Shield are two of the main ones.

While everyone knows you must defeat Doctor Doom to get his Gauntlets, many are still trying to figure out how to find Captain America's Shield.

Captain America's Shield locations in Fortnite:

  • Floor loot
  • Chests

Yep, Captain America's Shield is not something you find by defeating a boss or anything. The shield can be found all over the map as floor loot or in chests. It is completely random.

How much damage does the shield do in Fortnite?

The shield deals 60 damage to players and 100 damage to structures, making it extremely powerful. It is incredibly hard to miss, too, and it comes flying back to the user after each throw. The shield is of the Epic rarity (purple), making it a bit harder to find on the island than many other weapons.

It would not be surprising if Fortnite chooses to nerf this new item in the near future, so get using it now as it still dominates the playfield.

What makes the shield such a great weapon is the fact that this is not the first time it has been in the game. In fact, Captain America's Shield was first seen in Fortnite back in Chapter 1 during the major Avengers event.

During the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War, Fortnite introduced a limited-time mode, where players could fight with Cap's Shield and various other Marvel weapons.
