Hatsune Miku x Fortnite: Everything we know

The intel arrived via ShiinaBR and FNBRintel, two sources with reliable track records. Unfortunately, the details of this collaboration remain ambiguous. Since Hatsune Miku is a musical character, we can assume that this will occur primarily in Fortnite’s Guitar Hero-inspired Festival game mode.

This report contradicts the rumored Fortnite x NewJeans partnership, which reports indicated would occur in Season 7 of Fortnite Festival. Epic Games may have delayed this collaboration or scrapped it entirely. We expect to hear more about this developing story in the coming days.

Who is this character, and what is her origin?

Hatsune Miku, occasionally referred to as Miku Hatsune, is a 16-year-old digital pop star from Japan. She is derived from a software called Vocaloid. She sports a traditional anime appearance and can perform songs made by fans. Originally released in 2007, Hatsune Miku has become a Japanese icon, performing live as a hologram.

Users of the Vocaloid software can input lyrics and melodies and turn them into music. Thousands of fan-made tracks exist online and elsewhere, allowing you to choose what suits your musical preference.

Hatsune Miku gained more recognition stateside following her appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman in 2014, where she performed the song “Sharing the World” to a live studio audience.

While we don’t know the full extent of the Hatsune Miku x Fortnite collaboration, these leaks indicate it will happen in 2025. More details should emerge soon.
