Do you like scary movies?
Iconic horror movie characters have invaded Fortnite over the last few years. From Leatherface to Michael Myers to Billy the Puppet from Saw, you can assemble an extraordinary team of the horror genre's finest, and that will expand further next month. Many leaks in the scene have confirmed Ghostface from the Scream franchise is next in line to join Fortnite.
This information dates back to early August, but more details have come to light, and all Ghostface fans can expect something significant during Fortnitemares 2025.
Everything we know about Ghostface coming to Fortnite
Although unconfirmed at the time, Fortnite leaker Wensoing datamined a Fortnitemares Mythic item called "Stalker Knife" back on Aug. 7. This led many others to believe it was an obvious Ghostface crossover, given the character's primary weapon is a knife.
The rumor mill went silent for just over a month when more details emerged regarding this specific item. Fortnite leakers, such as HYPEX, have confirmed that the Stalker Knife is indeed a Ghostface crossover. Unfortunately, those are all the details currently available.
All that we know so far is that a Mythic item based on the Ghostface character's knife will factor into the crossover alongside an in-game skin and other cosmetics.
Is the Scream franchise involved, or is it just Ghostface?
This is perhaps the biggest mystery of all. For those who are unfamiliar, Scream and Ghostface are two distinct entities. A company called Fun World owns the rights to the Ghostface mask, which means the Scream film series required permission to use it.
As it stands, we don't know for sure whether this is a collaboration between Fortnite and Ghostface or the entire franchise. It's more than likely just the costume, although we may see an Emote utilizing Ghostface's famous voice changer.
The character recently appeared in Mortal Kombat 1, but that was a specific collaboration with the Scream series, so it's unclear where Fortnite will fall. More details are expected to emerge in the subsequent Fortnite updates, especially as the Halloween season rapidly approaches.
