Fortnite has revealed the next update will drop on July 11, adding Superman’s ability the game while making his Battle Pass skin unlockable!

Fortnite's 14 Days of Summer event is winding down, but Epic Games will remain on its annual break until July 15. Regardless, Fortnite's official social media account revealed that an update set to arrive on July 11 will center around Superman. This will grant players access to the superhero's powers and more.

Here's what you need to know about Fortnite's next update, which goes live later this week.

How will the Superman Mythic work?

Advertised as "new heroic gameplay," Fortnite players will have the opportunity to gather an item that will transform them into Superman himself. This coincides with the upcoming James Gunn-directed Superman movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11.

As for the heroic ability, the Chapter 6 Season 3 trailer provides a brief glimpse at what to expect. For one, it's presumed that players can strike their enemies with Kal-El's laser vision. However, it's worth noting that this would be redundant, given the Superman Sprite item currently in the game.

Additionally, there will be a feature where those with the Superman ability can launch a burst of energy that pushes their opponents away. Above all else, nothing is more prominent than the flying ability, which will serve as a significant perk to those traversing the map.

What else will happen in Fortnite's Superman update?

In addition to the debut of Superman's ability, July 11 also marks the first day Battle Pass owners can unlock the character's various cosmetics. There are 12 available, and these are usually unlockable through quests or by earning Account Levels.

Here is a look at the two Superman Battle Pass pages and what rewards will be available on Friday the 11th:

Despite Epic Games still being on their summer break, the Superman Fortnite update looks promising. Players will have a new item to experiment with and various items to unlock. This should hold everyone over until the next significant update, whenever that may be.
