The last two Fortnite Winterfest events began on the first Tuesday (2022) and second Thursday (2023) of the month, which likely means we can expect a similar release this year.
Reports that the next update will launch on Tuesday, Dec. 10, have led many to believe Fortnite Winterfest 2024, dubbed "Wintervestigation," could begin on the same day. Despite Epic Games not confirming this information, it's safe to expect this as we wait for more details.
However, the always reliable HYPEX has said that the Dec. 10 update could tease Winterfest with the official update potentially beginning in update v33.11 on Dec. 17. The Dec. 10 update came and went without an official Winterfest event launch, so we are anticipating it to begin anytime between now and Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Apart from the name "Wintervestigation" being attached to Fortnite Winterfest 2024, details about the event are limited. However, HYPEX confirmed in a post that ice skates would be coming to the game. This would be a first for the game, which is surprising, but seeing this version of mobility in Fortnite will be interesting.
Despite how much fans enjoy the Winterfest cabin and presents, it's unclear whether this will return. The last time we saw the cabin was in 2022, whereas 2023 saw the presents move to the Quests tab. As stated by iFireMonkey, there are no indications that the cabin will return, but it could happen.
