Massive weapons changes have arrived in the latest Fortnite Reload update.

Fortnite's beloved Reload game mode received a significant update on August 27, primarily centered around a massive weapon shake-up. Epic Games added and removed various items to keep Reload feeling fresh. Additionally, the developers made some slight adjustments to the Storm, including the Storm Sickness mechanic. Here is everything you need to know about the Fortnite Reload update on August 27.

Fortnite Reload August 27 update vaults and unvaults several weapons

Epic Games introduced new weapons into the Fortnite Reload loot pool in a July 16 update. Some notable additions included the Thunder Pump Shotgun, Twin Mag SMG, and Mammoth Pistol. The August 27 update undid two of those changes, vaulting the Twin Mag SMG and Mammoth Pistol alongside a few others, as outlined below:

Vaulted

  • Pistol
  • Mammoth Pistol
  • Ranger Shotgun
  • Heavy Shotgun
  • Lever Action Rifle
  • Hammer Assault Rifle
  • Twin Mag SMG

To compensate for the removed items, the Hand Cannon, Hunting Rifle, and Thunder Pump Shotgun mentioned above have returned for the time being. Here is a complete list of the unvaulted weapons:

Unvaulted

  • Combat Pistol
  • Hand Cannon
  • Thunder Shotgun
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Combat Assault Rifle
  • Combat SMG
  • Shield Keg

Explaining the Storm changes in the latest Reload patch

The Storm in Fortnite Reload also received some adjustments in the August 27 update to keep the action moving. Firstly, the final two Storm Circles will begin quicker and shrink slower over a long distance. As a result, there is less time for you and your team to compose yourselves before the final moments play out.

Furthermore, the Storm Sickness will now activate faster. Storm Sickness is a mechanic that punishes players for spending too much time in the Storm. With this change, the mechanic will go into effect earlier than usual. That means sustaining Storm damage during a reload match will have dire consequences.
