UEFN paid more than $350 million to map creators in 2024, making it a much more successful year than 2023.
2024 was quite the year for UEFN map creators, as Fortnite paid out more than $350 million to creators, making it the highest-paying year yet. The company saw an influx in creators this year, with over 70,000 putting forth time to create unique and immersive Fortnite maps.
In fact, UEFN saw an increase in average daily players go up by 15% in 2024 compared to 2023, making it an extremely successful year.
Fortnite reports it paid UEFN creators $352 million in 2024
In a recent post, Fortnite revealed that over $352 million was paid out to map creators in 2024. This was an 11% increase in payouts from 2023. Not only did the game pay creators millions of dollars, but more than 50 creators earned over $1 million in 2024.
The money was flowing, that is for sure.
However, $1 million was not the highest payout; however, as 21 creators made more than $3 million, seven of those creators made over $10 million. And yes, this is from creating Fortnite maps.
UEFN is no easy job; however, creating a seamless, smooth map that grabs players' attention is extremely hard and time-consuming. Also, you are never guaranteed a player-base for each map you release.
You could spend weeks on a map, and only 10 people could check it out.
