Did you get the chance to grab the Bow Blades Pickaxe before it was gone?

It's always interesting seeing a game as large as Fortnite make as big of a mistake as adding an exclusive item to the Item Shop, but hey - we are all human, right? The popular Battle Royale accidentally added the Bow Blades Pickaxe to the Fortnite Item Shop earlier today, which was meant to be an FNCS exclusive back in Chapter 3, Season 3.

Fortnite has since responded, pulling the Bow Blades from the Item Shop and sending those who bought the Pickaxe their V-Bucks back. Yet, they still get to keep the Pickaxe, too.

Fortnite pulls Bow Blades Pickaxe from Item Shop

The Item Shop just got a bit smaller, since Fortnite had to quickly pull the Bow Blades Pickaxe from it after mistakenly adding the item earlier today.

"Due to an issue, we unintentionally brought the ‘Bow Blades Pickaxe back into the shop and have since removed it," said Fortnite on Twitter.

This left players wondering whether or not they would get to keep the Pickaxe if they had purchased it during that small time frame in the Item Shop. Fortnite made sure to provide an answer to that question, too.

"If you purchased the ‘Bow Blades during this evening's rotation, you can keep this Pickaxe and we'll refund your V-Bucks soon-ish."

Not only do those who bought the Pickaxe get to keep it, but they get their V-Bucks back, too. I'm sure those players are throwing a party.

Fortnite then announced they plan to make a new variant of the Pickaxe which will release in the future.

Did the Fortnite Pickaxe lose its value because of this?

The Bow Blades Pickaxe was definitely considered a rare item in Fortnite, as it was only ever released during one time period. However, players cannot sell items in Fortnite, which sort of diminishes the idea of "value."

It is also against Epic's Terms of Service to sell Epic accounts, so that also gets rid of any special value the Bow Blades might hold.

Still, it is a cool Pickaxe to show off. Or was, at least.
