Despite several collaborations, Fortnite has still yet to introduce a Lightsaber Pickaxe into the game. Will it ever happen?
Players have wanted one Pickaxe since Fortnite and Star Wars combined forces for the first time in 2019. Over the last six years, over 30 Star Wars-themed Pickaxes have appeared in Battle Passes and Item Shop rotations, but none have been a Lightsaber.
This has become a constant topic of discussion since it seems like the most obvious cosmetic item to include. Instead, Epic Games routinely includes Lightsabers as an in-game weapon. Players desperately desire them as a Pickaxe, and if it doesn't happen in Chapter 6 Mini-Season 1, we may never get one.
Epic Games provides players with every possible Pickaxe except the one they want
Apart from Travis Scott's continued absence from the Item Shop, the Lightsaber Pickaxe remains one of the most prominent mysteries in Fortnite. This collaboration dates back to Dec. 14, 2019, with the inaugural Live at Risky Reels Star Wars event. Since then, Fortnite and Star Wars have remained consistent partners over the last six years.
Those crossovers include the Mandalorian, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul in separate Fortnite Passes. Various other characters, Gliders, and Pickaxes have rotated through the Item Shop, but no Lightsaber Pickaxes have emerged.
Fans poked fun at Epic Games for omitting a Lightsaber when Darth Vader headlined the Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass, favoring a harvesting tool with a giant Sith symbol instead. Other Jedi and Sith, including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Kylo Ren, and Luke Skywalker, filtered through Fortnite with similar treatment.
Still no Lightsaber in an all-Star Wars season?
Fortnite's Star Wars-themed Chapter 6 Mini-Season 1 marked the first season of its kind. The latest update introduces a loot pool filled with blasters and Lightsabers, re-themed points of interest (POIs), X-wings, and TIE fighters.
One would presume this would be the perfect setting to introduce the infamous Lightsaber as a Fortnite Pickaxe, but that is not the case. The Mini-Season 1 features Emperor Palpatine, Poe Dameron, and even General Grievous, but not the tool everyone wants to use while farming materials.

Mace Windu uses a Jedi Order Crest Pickaxe instead of his iconic weapon
The recent revelation of the Mace Windu skin and cosmetics fueled the fire. Rather than including the character's iconic purple Lightsaber, he wields a harvesting tool adorned with a giant Jedi symbol. It's become comical at this point, and players are steadily losing faith.
There is still hope, but fans are hanging on by a thread
A few leakers have reported that a Lightsaber Pickaxe is coming to Fortnite this season. One was Blortzen, who reported this before the season began and caught heat when it didn't materialize.
More recently, SalahLeaks corroborated Blortzen's report, but no concrete evidence exists. The most reputable leakers, such as ShiinaBR and HYPEX, have yet to confirm the Lightsaber Pickaxe leaks. Unfortunately, that leaves us exactly where we were nearly six years ago.
Only time will tell if and when it will happen. Many Fortnite players remain puzzled by why it hasn't.
