On June 6, 2026, the Fortnite Crew V-Bucks changes will go into effect, offering players 800 instead of the 1,000 it's been since launch.

April 2026 marks the final month the monthly Fortnite Crew subscription will grant subscribers 1,000 V-Bucks. Beginning on June 6, 2026, the Fortnite Crew V-Bucks changes will go into effect, reducing it to 800, despite the membership price remaining the same. It’s a massive change that has already driven thousands away from Fortnite Crew, and more could follow.

Fortnite Crew subscribers receive an email about the V-Bucks changes

An email recently went out to all existing Fortnite Crew members, informing them of the official start date for the V-Bucks reduction. It reads as follows: “For subscriptions renewing on or after June 6, 2026, the V-Bucks grant in Fortnite Crew will change from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks. You will continue to receive 1,000 V-Bucks until then.”

Anyone who subscribes to Fortnite Crew from now until June 6 can still claim the 1,000 V-Bucks. Once that date passes, all subscribers will receive 800 V-Bucks every month. Until now, Fortnite Crew has remained largely unchanged, granting players benefits such as a free Battle Pass and an exclusive skin every month.

While it may not seem like much, this adjustment stems from Epic’s recent decision to increase the price of V-Bucks across the board to “help pay the bills.” There was also the matter of the company recently laying off more than 1,000 employees to cut costs, as Fortnite has grown more expensive to operate over time.

What could this mean moving forward?

Whether this is the final step or not remains to be seen, as Epic Games has not had the best PR run of late. It began with the V-Bucks price changes, which also affected Fortnite Crew and the seasonal Battle Pass. Then came the layoffs and Epic Games’ introduction of AI-generated Italian brainrot skins into the game.

All indications are that Fortnite has hit a low point. CEO Tim Sweeney told employees that engagement is down and that the V-Bucks changes are likely due to that. Unfortunately, the future is somewhat murky as Epic Games tries to right the ship.

Only one more month of Fortnite Crew’s monthly 1,000 V-Bucks remains before it drops to 800 at the same price of $11.99.
