Here is what you can expect when Fortnite’s new Star Wars season arrives on May 2!
The Star Wars takeover of Fortnite begins on May 2. However, Epic Games has eliminated any semblance of mystery by prematurely releasing the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 patch notes before the new season drops. Many features have already surfaced, but this provides a more detailed idea of what to expect.
This article covers the weapons, Battle Pass, map, and much more as we outline everything revealed in Epic Games' Season 3 blog post.
All Star Wars-based Fortnite drop spots in the new season
Epic Games has not kept the Season 3 map a secret. That said, we won't spend much time on that. However, it is worth covering the new points of interest (POIs) and relevant changes to expect on May 2.

- First Order Base
- Outpost Enclave
- Resistance Base
- Vader Samurai's Solitude
Lightsabers and blasters fill out the Season 3 loot pool
We've seen lightsabers as weapons numerous times throughout Fortnite history. It only makes sense for them to return for a Star Wars-themed season. For this update, Jedi and Sith lightsabers will be available to players for use against their opponents.
While wielding the ancient weapon of a force-sensitive warrior, you can deflect enemy fire, move faster, jump higher, and be immune to fall damage. Per the blog post, you must train in the force to acquire a lightsaber or loot one from an eliminated player.
From a non-lightsaber perspective, only blasters will be available on May 2 when the season drops. Below is a list of the different blasters available in the loot pool:
- Reliable DL-44 Blaster Pistol
- Heavy CR-2 Blaster (an SMG!)
- Close-range ACP Scatter Blaster and BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster
- Close-to-medium range DLT-19 Blaster Rifle
- Long-range IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle
- All-purpose A280-CFE Blaster Rifle
- Highly accurate DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle
- Empire standard Issue E-11 Blaster
- First Order standard issue F-11 Blaster
In addition to these weapons, you can acquire Captain Phasma's Mythic F-11D Blaster by defeating the boss character at the First Order Base location. She will also drop Phasma's Blaster Medallion, which extends the weapon's "overheat" period and reduces its cooldown.
How do you acquire lightsabers and force abilities?
Like the recent 'Find The Force' event, acquiring lightsabers and force abilities work similarly to that event. You must navigate to one of many Jedi or Sith holograms, represented by Rey Skywalker and Emperor Palpatine.
The former will grant you a Force Push ability while the latter provides a Force Lightning ability once you've completed the "training simulation." In reality, you don't have to train, but activate the event, and you will return to the Island with a blue or red lightsaber and one of the two abilities.
You can also head to the new Vader Samurai's Solitude POI, where you can defeat Darth Vader Samurai to acquire his lightsaber and a Force Saber Throw attack.
Take flight with TIE fighters and X-wings

For the first time in Fortnite history, non-Glider Star Wars vehicles will be pilotable in Chapter 6 Season 3. The vehicles available include the Imperial TIE fighter and Rebel X-wing. On top of flying, you can also utilize the blasters outfitted on these vehicles.
All updates in Chapter 6 Season 3 explained
Since Chapter 6 Season 3 will be an abbreviated season, Epic Games has outlined all the updates that will occur during the season. These will take place weekly on Thursdays, from May 8 to June 7.

What's included in the Fortnite x Star Wars Battle Pass?

Like the Chapter 6 Season 3 map, Epic Games showed its entire hand regarding the seasonal Battle Pass. The highlights include General Grievous of Revenge of the Sith fame and the relentless Emperor Palpatine. However, it's worth mentioning that Grievous won't be available until later in May.
Resistance pilot Poe Dameron fills out the Battle Pass alongside a Wookie-themed Cuddle Team Leader and a Jedi Evie skin. You can also connect your MyDisney account to your Epic Games account to acquire a free First Order Stormtrooper skin.
Is this a good update for Fortnite?
Although we haven't had the chance to play the Star Wars season yet, everything included seems promising. Unfortunately, Star Wars in Fortnite is nothing new, so the allure is a bit less appealing than it would've been if this were a new experience.
Regardless, the lightsabers, force abilities, and blasters should make for a fun loot pool. Additionally, the TIE fighters and X-wings, while potentially a nuisance, will be exciting vehicles to try out.
That covers the entirety of Epic Games' Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 patch notes! The wait is on, as there's less than a day remaining until the Star Wars invasion begins.
