New movement mechanics debut in Fortnite Chapter 6
There's no better way to explore the Fortnite Chapter 6 landscape than with four new movement mechanics: the Ledge Jump, Roll Landing, Wall Kick, and Wall Scramble. Each adds a gameplay flair to the game, especially the Ledge Jump, which is effectively Parkour in Fortnite.
Here's a description of each new mechanic:
- Ledge Jump - A unique animation that occurs when you sprint at a ledge and press your jump key or button just before the edge. This will send your character into a "Parkour" motion, allowing you to reach places you usually can't otherwise.
- Roll Landing - Your character enters a rolling animation when holding jump or tapping the jump key or button just before you touch the ground. This sends you into a "barrel roll" animation and will restore some stamina.
- Wall Kick - Another of Fortnite Chapter 6's movement mechanics allows you to kick off a wall and launch in any direction. You can perform a Wall Kick by jumping into a wall sideways. You can work these into your gameplay and even chain Wall Kicks to expand your movement capabilities.
- Wall Scramble - The Wall Scramble allows you to scale vertical surfaces until you eventually reach the top. You can work a Wall Kick into a Wall Scramble.
