A Fortnite 67 Emote will soon become reality.
The 67 meme has effectively taken over the Internet since gaining popularity in recent months. It's even seeped into pop culture and is borderline unavoidable at this point. Video games are also capitalizing on the viral meme, with Fortnite soon to become the latest to add a 67 Emote.
This information surfaced during the game's most recent downtime, which usually leads to various leaks, including skins, collaborations, and more. Sure enough, an unmistakable image was among the leaks, and it's 67.
A 67 Emote is coming to Fortnite next week
Fortnite leaker HYPEX was one of the many leakers to post the image seen above, with the now infamous '6-7' number and hand gesture. Although we haven't seen the animated version, it's easy to imagine what it will look like.
Other games, like Clash Royale and Overwatch, recently went viral for adding their own 67 Emote. Fortnite referenced the meme after the Chapter 6 Zero Hour Finale, in honor of the game transitioning from Chapter 6 to Chapter 7.
It was only a matter of time before Epic Games transformed the 67 meme into a Fortnite Emote. HYPEX reports that Epic will add the Emote to the game sometime next week, but the exact date is unknown.
What is the meme all about?
The 67 meme stems from a song called Doot Doot (6 7) performed by rapper Skrilla, which dropped on Feb. 7, 2025. It peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and eventually took on a life of its own. The viral meme originated with Maverick Trevillian, the individual in the video above.
Now commonly referred to as the "67 Kid," Trevillian appeared at a basketball game, which YouTuber Cam Wilder filmed. The camera pans to him as he says "6 7" while making the hand gesture. The original video went live in March of this year, and the rest is history.
Many brands and restaurants have run promotions based on the 67 meme, and Dictionary.com even awarded it Word of the Year. Whether you love or hate it, the meme is here to stay for now. Fortnite's addition of a 67 Emote will immortalize it in the game.
