The Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) is rapidly approaching the first Grand Finals of 2024. With Major 1 currently underway, teams across the game's six competitive regions are vying for a share of over $7 million and a spot in the in-person FNCS Global Championship. This weekend kicks off the Semi-Finals, where teams hope to earn one of 50 seats in the region's FNCS Major 1 Grand Finals.

How does the FNCS Major 1 Semi-Finals work?
This year's format is confusing, but the graphic above per Epic Games should help. The way it works is that duos are looking to earn a Victory Royale in the Upper Bracket. Once accomplished, they have reached the FNCS Major 1 Grand Finals.
Those who did not will either remain in the Upper Bracket on day two or drop to the Lower Bracket, depending on their Series Points standings. In round three, the top 25 teams from the Upper Bracket and the top 15 from the Lower Bracket will fill out the remaining 40 spots.
