Every confirmed ESL Fortnite team ahead of the Esports World Cup

Fortnite heads to DreamHack Dallas 2024 for the first Esports World Cup (ESWC) Qualifier this weekend. An unknown number of teams who finish atop the leaderboard will secure a spot at the $750,000 EWC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this summer. Some ESL Fortnite teams have emerged as top contenders early in the going, many of whom have signed with reputable esports organizations.

This article outlines the ESL Fortnite format and every confirmed team ahead of DreamHack Dallas 2024 and the Esports World Cup!

ESL Fortnite has effectively replaced the previous traditional DreamHack Fortnite competitions. Rather than the usual Battle Royale or Zero Build tournaments, DreamHack and ESL have turned to Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).

The format sees ESL Fortnite teams of four compete head-to-head in custom game modes such as Hardpoint and Capture The Flag. Most preliminary matches will be best-of-three, whereas the Grand Finals at DreamHack Dallas 2024 are best-of-five. Squads will compete in a seeding format before moving to a double-elimination bracket.

The Esports World Cup 2024 format is unclear, but we expect to learn that information soon.

Several esports organizations have partnered with ESL to field rosters for the ensuing Fortnite and Esports World Cup competitions. These spots are monetarily incentivized, allowing the organizations to earn revenue based on their respective team's performances.
