FaZe EpikWhale is official!
Fortnite legend and six-time Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) winner Shane "EpikWhale" Cotton is the newest member of FaZe Clan. The accomplished veteran revealed the signing during the $2M Gamers8 Fortnite in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Previously, EpikWhale spent time with NRG and TSM before becoming a free agent in March. After winning the Battle Royale version of Gamers8 last year, he brings an impressive track record to FaZe Clan.
EpikWhale announces FaZe Clan Fortnite signing
EpikWhale (20) and duo partner Abdullah "Acorn" Akhras made their grand entrance on day one of the Gamers8 Fortnite Finals. The two took center stage and prepared for an interview, where EpikWhale revealed his FaZe Clan jersey.
FaZe followed this announcement with a tweet and video in honor of EpikWhale joining the organization. The video showcases many of the player's most impressive eliminations compiled over his illustrious career.
Despite FaZe Clan's Fortnite roster thinning over the past few months, the addition of EpikWhale is notable, considering his achievements. The player solidified this signing by winning the first Gamers8 Fortnite Zero Build LAN match.

FaZe Clan's newest Fortnite player is one of the only OGs still competing at the highest level today. EpikWhale qualified for the Solo and Duo Fortnite World Cup in 2019, where he placed third and 12th, respectively.
With less than a year of competing under his belt, EpikWhale became a top player. He followed that performance with four years of success and dominance in North America.
EpikWhale captured six FNCS titles while competing in the NA West region. This period was the most dominant in Fortnite history. In 2021, EpikWhale combined forces with Russian player Danila "Malibuca" Yakovenko, and the two won the Gamers8 Fortnite Battle Royale tournament.
His career earnings are well over $1 million, and joining FaZe Clan validates EpikWhale's impressive Fortnite history.
