Cooper and Mero are officially your 2023 Fortnite Global Champions.

It has been a year since the 2022 Fortnite Invitationals where Kamy and Setty were crowned the world champions, but now a new set of victors have taken the stage. Cooper and Mero, a team that was literally created off of a coin flip, have officially won the 2023 Fortnite Global Championship.

While Mero may have already been known as one of the greatest Fortnite players in the game, Cooper has officially solidified himself as one of the G.O.A.T.s.

Cooper and Mero take home $1 million USD, winning the 2023 Fortnite Global Championship

Held in Denmark this year, the 2023 Fortnite Global Championship is the biggest Fortnite event since the 2019 World Cup. With a $4 million prize pool on the line, some of the best players in the world took to the stage to compete.

Cooper and Mero, who qualified early this year during one of the FNCS Majors, are now the official Global Champions, and the way they became a team is more than bizarre.

Both players left the decision on whether or not they would play together up to a coin flip. Yes, you read that correctly; a coin flip. This 50/50 chance alongside hard work, is the sole reason these two are as successful as they are.

And now, a first-place and $1 million later, the duo will be known in history as one of the greatest Fortnite duos of all time.

"I don't even know what to do with this money," said Cooper in an end-game interview. "I'm literally only 16."

2023 Fortnite Globals: One of the greatest tournaments in all of esports

The 2023 Fortnite Global Championship was a massive in-person LAN event, where the top 75 duos who qualified for the event throughout all of the 2023 FNCS events, was held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The tournament was held over three days, where an upper and lower bracket competed to make finals, which was held on the final day. Mero, who played alongside the infamous Bugha last year in the Fortnite Invitational, officially put himself as the World Champion.

"Pass couple events, I was just Matthew," said Mero. "Today... I was MERO."

For Cooper, this was his first LAN event EVER, and he did not neglect to show up.
