Get ready for some collegiate Fortnite action!

Collegiate Fortnite returns this Fall with the CCA Fall 2023 Creative Series. This 3v3 competition runs every Monday, beginning September 11 until October 30, and features a $50K prize pool. These matches will occur on four custom-designed Fortnite maps, utilizing various game modes. 

Here’s everything you need to know about the CCA Fall 2023 Creative Series featuring Fortnite.

Fall 2023 Creative Series ft. Fortnite: Format, Game Modes, & Schedule

The 3v3 collegiate competition deviates from the traditional Fortnite tournament format. Rather than a straightforward Battle Royale setup, the Fall 2023 Creative Series dips into the Fortnite Creative landscape.

Map makers specifically designed two maps based on familiar Call of Duty game modes Hardpoint and Control. The competition kicks off September 11 with the Open Qualifiers and continues for the next seven weeks.

Here are some key dates and the format explanation for the CCA Fall 2023 Creative Series:

Registration Deadline (September 8 at 11:59 p.m. ET)

Open Qualifier (September 11)

All registered teams will be split into four regions by Event Admins after registration closes. Each region will participate in a double-elimination bracket to determine the top 16 teams per region. The top 16 teams per region will advance to the Seeding Swiss stage.

Seeding Swiss (September 18)

The Top 16 teams per region will be grouped into a Swiss group to determine their seeding. No teams will be eliminated in this stage. Following this stage, teams across all regions will be split into 8 groups of 8 teams based on their regional seedings.

Group Play (September 25, October 2, and October 9)

The CCA Fall 2023 Creative Series Group Play stage will consist of 8 groups of 8 teams. Over three weeks, each group will play a round-robin where each team within will play each other exactly once. Upon completing Group Play, the top 2 teams per group will advance to the Finals Seeding Swiss. The 3rd-6th place teams per group will advance to the Last Chance Qualifier. The 7th and 8th place teams per group will be eliminated.

Last Chance Qualifier (October 16)

The Last Chance Qualifier will consist of a single round of matches, determined based on teams’ group placements. The winning team of each Last Chance Qualifier match will advance to the Finals, while the losing team will be eliminated.

Finals Seeding Swiss (October 16)

The top two teams from each group, 16 total, will play in a Finals Seeding Swiss to determine seedings in the Finals. No teams will be eliminated in this stage.

Finals (October 23rd and 30th)

The Finals will be a double elimination bracket. The 16 teams from the Finals Seeding Swiss stage will start in the upper bracket, while the 16 teams from the Last Chance Qualifier will start in the lower bracket.

How to register & eligibility

Anyone who likes what they see and wants to register should visit the eFuse website. Once there, you can fill out the registration form. You must live in the United States or Canada and provide certain documents and proof to be eligible for the Fall 2023 Creative Series ft. Fortnite.

Here is a list of the documents that each player needs to provide:

  • Player’s full name
  • Proof of full-time study (e.g., transcripts) at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school (each, an “Academic Institution”); 
  • The name of the Academic Institution
  • A valid government-issued ID containing name, date of birth, and a headshot image
