Fortnite may be free-to-play, but is it available to play offline?

Having been out for over four years, Fortnite has absolutely changed the gaming world as we know it. That feeling of dropping off the Battle Bus for the first time is something most gamers will cherish forever.

The question is — is Fortnite available to be played offline?

Fortnite is a free-to-play game, but is it available to play offline?

For being such a popular game, a lot of people question whether or not they can play Fortnite while offline. The simple and unfortunate answer is... no.

No, Fortnite is not available offline. The reason is that the entire game is run off of specific servers. These servers require access to internet for the game to run. For a game like Fortnite, the faster the internet speed, the better.

Is Fortnite Creative available offline?

For some of you, the Battle Royale mode is played a lot less. Creative has seen an influx in players over the past few years, as people have been creating new and improved maps and game modes in Fortnite's system.

Unfortunately, Fortnite Creative also requires a server to gain access.

The entirety of Fortnite needs server access, so if you plan on playing somewhere without internet, you may want to look for a different game.

Will Fortnite gain offline access in the future?

Whether or not Fortnite will ever develop an offline mode is unknown, but probably unlikely. The game is based around their servers. Everything you do is through them, and it will more than likely continue to stay that way.

But who knows if Fortnite will stay an online game forever. Things certainly can change.
