The developers behind Bloons TD 6 have teased a Fortnite collaboration with a release date to come later this month. Here's what we know!
Fortnite is ripe with collaborations as usual. The year so far, through March, has seen the addition of many popular IPs and even some lesser-known to the masses. A recent teaser for what’s next arrived via the Ninja Kiwi Games X account, which heavily teased “something Epic,” with a curiously capitalized ‘E,’ leading many to believe this is a Fortnite collab with Bloons TD 6.
Here’s what we know and what to expect from this crossover in the coming weeks.
Fortnite x Bloons TD 6 explained
The teaser itself didn’t reveal much, but the shadowy ‘F’ right before the Bloons TD 6 x ? screen appears tells you everything you need to know. This game is generally one of the more popular flash-type games in a series that began back in 2007. Bloons Tower Defense 6 arrived in 2018 and has retained a modest player base since then.
As far as what to expect from the Fortnite collaboration, it’s a complete unknown at this point. However, the teaser did reveal a March 28 date, which likely means it will launch then. That would bring us to Chapter 7 Season 2, a season that will reportedly add the Looney Tunes, Overwatch, and more.
If we had to guess, it could revolve around the monkey characters found within the game. There are various types of monkeys that defend the tower, so there are plenty of options on that front. Anything beyond that is unclear, but the teaser itself indicates the monkey character will be front-and-center.
What is this game?
Bloons TD is a Tower Defense game that emerged back in the late 2000s. The premise is simple: you have to build monkey-based structures to defend your tower from the dreaded balloons. You earn currency with each wave of enemies defeated, allowing you to build more efficient structures.
The sixth installment arrived on some platforms in 2018, while the PlayStation 4 added the game in 2024. It follows the same formula as previous games and maintains a consistent player base on Steam. It’s also a popular game for live streaming, with Felix “xQc” Lengyel, a notable streamer, frequently revisiting Bloons TD 6.
In addition to the platforms mentioned, Bloons TD 6 is available on the Epic Games Store, which likely paved the way for the Fortnite collaboration. With the March 28 date announced, we expect to learn more over the coming weeks.
