Apple terminates Epic Games developer accounts for iOS, further preventing Fortnite from returning to iPhone

Fortnite may not be returning to iOS in 2024 now.

It is a sad day for Fortnite fans who enjoy playing on iOS devices. The war between Apple and Epic Games may have begun four years ago, but it seemed like Epic Games was at the forefront of winning. Now, with the announcement that Apple will be terminating Epic Games developer accounts for iOS, we may actually not see the Battle Royale return to the iPhone anytime soon.

This is a big blow for Epic Games, as developers were hoping to bring the game back to iOS in 2024.

Fortnite originally to return to iOS in 2024; might not be happening now

Only a few months ago, it was announced that Fortnite had officially found a loophole that would allow them to put the game back on the Apple App Store. The only catch was that it only worked in specific parts of Europe.

Many other large countries would have to still wait for the game to return to iOS. Yet, it was still quite the historic moment for Fortnite fans and iOS Battle Royale gamers.

Now, it seems like Apple had a drastic move up its sleeve, as the company officially removed Epic Games developers from iOS.

So what does this necessarily mean? Well, no Epic Games developers will be able to further assist in creating and developing games for iOS. This means no updated Fortnite or any other games that Epic Games would have wanted to bring to iOS.

Are you an iOS Fortnite player who wants to stay up-to-date with all the fun updates within the game? Sadly, it doesn't seem as if this will be a possibility for now.

Will Fortnite ever return to iOS?

Many are questioning whether or not the popular Battle Royale will actually ever return to iPhones. Sadly, with news like today's, the game is farther away than we thought from returning.

Still, though, it seems as if Epic Games is refusing to give up, hoping to ensure that every gaming platform allows Fortnite. Hopefully, we see change in the future.
