“I don’t like sand. It’s coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.”
The rumors are true — another Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration is coming. Ahead of Star Wars Day on May 4, Epic Games has confirmed an Anakin Skywalker Fortnite outfit is set to release on May 2. Beyond the new skin, leakers have confirmed this crossover will include much more.
Here's everything we know about the upcoming Fortnite x Star Wars update!
Anakin Skywalker drops into Fortnite on May 2
Fortnite has a way with words. The game's official Twitter account tweeted an image of Anakin Skywalker as a Fortnite skin alongside the words, "You've been chosen." Those with knowledge of the Star Wars lore might remember Anakin Skywalker being the "chosen one" before *spoiler alert* defecting to the dark side and becoming Darth Vader.
This Fortnite depiction of Anakin is the pre-Darth Vader Hayden Christensen version, last seen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus show. You may remember young Anakin from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
It's unclear how many versions of the Anakin Skywalker Fortnite outfit will be available, but fans can expect a set complete with a Pickaxe, Glider, and more. That is all due to occur in the Fortnite Item Shop on May 2, likely following the newest update.
