If you are going to play the Marvel vs Capcom 2 re-release online, then beware of Wazzler!

People in the fighting games community (FGC) got reasonably excited about the release of Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection. The package includes classic MvC games with the online play feature. Pretty soon, the matchmaking there was invaded by one specific player — Wazzler. And everyone is terrified of him.

The might of the fearsome Wazzler soon became a popular meme.

Who is Wazzler?

A player with this nickname appears in online matches and destroys his opponents. Some upset players claim they want the game refunded because of this. Some actively warn fellow gamers of this overpowered opponent. Who is this Saiyan among Marvel vs. Capcom players?

Wazzler is the nickname of Justin Wong. He's one of the best fighting games competitors in the world. Within the MvC series specifically, Justin is a six-time MvC2 Evo champion — among many other achievements.

With the re-release of classic MvC games on modern platforms, Justin Wong decided to reach the top on online leaderboards. He crashes and leaves in the dust everyone who gets in the way.

Justin reached rank 1 on PlayStation. He also achieved rank top 1 on the Switch. Some people tried to resist Wazzler, but it didn't work.

The rumors say that if you play the game for too long, Wazzler will come after you.

The refund trend is pretty real, but people still recommend the game: 10/10.

Don’t be afraid of Wazzler. Learn from him!

The whole fuss about the terrifying Wazzler is just a joke — unless you met him in MvC2 online. A great thing about this story is that Justin Wong is open to teaching everyone how to play the game.

Maximilian Dood vs Wazzler

Maximilian Dood, a well-known FGC content creator, joined the conversation, claiming that having Wazzler is a “defining moment in competitive gaming”.

And then Maximilian Dood shared a video of him playing against Justin Wong.

Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection includes two classic MvC games and a few other fighting titles. It’s available on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Steam. If Wazzler destroys you, it's actually a great opportunity to learn more about this title and the genre in general. For more news and updates, stick around on esports.gg!
