Play tests are great ways for teams to hear feedback from players, especially when it comes to online experience. With the pandemic continuing to put a limit on offline events, online stability is a focal point for any new fighting game. Play tests are now a common way to test a game's netcode pre-release.
This trend was set by ArcSystem Works, who conducted several open tests for Guilty Gear -Strive- to perfect its online modes. MultiVersus promises rollback netcode, so developers likely want to make sure it doesn't disappoint.
