Some of the brightest anime personalities made it to the game, adding their weird but mighty powers to the variety of tag-team mechanics.

It is a pretty good period to release Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact! The excitement of DBFZ is inevitably fading away, despite the World Tour and the balance patch. 2XKO is still far away. The fighting games community (FGC) needs a game of the tag-team sub-genre, to satisfy the hunger for action.

The Hunter x Hunter is perfect for this! It has wonderful anime archetypes that transition perfectly to the virtual fighters. This article lists Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact characters and explains who they are in the original series and what to expect from them in the game.

All characters of Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact explained

The original manga and anime are whirling around the adventures of Gon, a boy from a remote island who wants to become a hunter to understand and find his father.

The events unleash layers of hidden powers — within Gon, his friend, and his opponents. From tricky but still normal physical fights, the characters move to controlling mystic energies and mastering miraculous skills.

Check out brief descriptions of all characters in Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact here. We highlight their anime role and their tag-fighting archetypes.

Gon

He is the main protagonist. Difficulties make the boy stronger, and Gon surprises everyone around with how quickly he gains power.

In the game, Gon is an all-rounded character with a good variety of quick close-range attacks and some very strong mid-range special moves. In Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact, Gon has his signature attack Jajanken, or Rock-Paper-Scissors.

Killua

Killua is the best friend of Gon. The boy is from a famous family of assassins, but he abandoned this path — a lot thanks to Gon.

Killua’s moveset is about super quick moves and using close-range lightning attacks.

Leorio

In terms of learning the mystic energy of Nen, Leorio was somewhat behind his friends. Still, he is a dangerous fighter, with a trick or two up to his sleeves. Leorio is very dedicated to his path as a doctor, and he always helps when Gon and Kurapika need him.

As a fighting games character, Leorio has good long-range attacks. He uses Nen to hit the ground and summon energy fists right under his opponents.

Kurapika

The path of revenge took Kurapika to the heights of power. But after facing his enemies from the Phantom Troupe, Kurapika managed to hold his anger and avoid unnecessary deaths — a lot thanks to his friends.

Kurapika can materialize chains and use them as long-range weapons in the game. He is very helpful to other Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact characters in the team thanks to his healing ability.

Hisoka

When Hisoka sees a decently strong opponent, he wants to fight and kill them. This is his biggest pleasure! Hisoka lets Gon and Killua gain enough power to become good fighters. He even participated in one of his adventures as a teammate.

Hisoka has a versatile moveset in the fighting game. He can throw poker cards as projectiles. And when he wants to move to a melee fight, he pulls his opponents with Bungee Gum. Hisoka is almost as quick with his movements as Killua.

Netero

The elderly leader of all hunters is a dangerous person. The might of Netero is impressive, and he uses it in some of the most horrible missions, like destroying chimera ants.

In Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact, Netero is a rushdown character with a focus on active offense. He also has a good variety of special moves, like summoning a beautiful but terrifying god-like creature.

Bisky

She looks like a small girl, but in fact, Bisky is an experienced fighter who hides her true look of a huge muscular warrior. Bisky is a teacher of Gon and Killua. She helped the boys get substantially stronger — but her training is merciless.

When Bisky transforms in the game, her moves and abilities change. From a quick fighter, she turns into a damaging powerhouse.

Machi

This girl is part of the Phantom Troupe. Machi uses her abilities to heal teammates, but controlling strings of Nen energy can also be an extremely dangerous fighting tool.

High mobility and the use of threads to catch opponents are the main powers of Machi in the game.

Uvogin

This guy was the muscle power of the Phantom Troupe. Uvogin eliminated the most dangerous assassins of the Mafia as if it was nothing. This strength made him arrogant and unnecessarily emotional. He became the only victim of Kurapika because of this.

Among all the characters in Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact, Uvogin is among the biggest, with a variety of super mighty moves, capable of breaking even a good defense.

Chrollo

The skill of Chrollo is to steal the abilities of his victims. This made him a perfect Phantom Troupe leader. Kurapika found a key against this, made this dangerous opponent defenseless, and then left his revenge behind.

The range of skills is the main feature of Chrollo as a fighting game character. It nicely supports his aggressive rushdown style.

Feitan

This guy is disturbingly cruel. He enjoys torturing victims of the Phantom Troupe, getting information from them. It still feels like Feitan doesn’t take the missions of his organization personally, rather looking for satisfaction and benefits.

There is a sword in his umbrella, and it’s Feitan’s weapon in Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact. The character is aggressive and deals significant damage. His attacks are stronger when Feitan’s health is low.

Meruem

The king of chimera ants is the most dangerous among these creatures. The Queen used all her patience to make Meruem flawless. He is more than a warrior! Meruem’s destiny is to rule, and he is ready to destroy everyone on this path.

Meruem in Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact is a well-rounded character. He has strongly damaging hits and a set of skills to support various fighting styles.

Genthru

While playing Greed Island, Gon and Killua faced this dangerous opponent. Genthru is also known as Bomber for his skill of planting bombs on the bodies of his victims and then detonating them remotely. The guy is greedy and evil, but being defeated by Gon and experiencing his kindness may change any person.

Genthru sure uses the bombs against his fighting opponents. They are tricky tools of dealing big damage.

Razor

Ging, father of Gon has a deal with Razor — to fight his son with no holding back when Gon finds Razor in the video game Greed Island. Razor did that and proved himself as a dedicated fighter, strong and ready to use all sorts of tricks.

His straightforward power and the use of unusual Nen skills is the basis of Razor’s moveset as a fighter.

Morel

Morel has an enormous smoking pipe. He can create smoke puppets and also use smoke to confuse his victims. Morei is more than a wizard, though. He is good at melee fights, suppressing opponents by his size and physical strength.

Morei smoke skills add an extra layer to his effective fighting attacks.

Kite

Gon and Killua met Kite when used a Greed Island card to find Ging, Gon’s father. It turned out that Kite was a student of Ging — and he decided to teach Gon something useful about Nen and fights. They had to do that in practice, as chimera ants appeared really soon, threatening the world.

Kite has a super unusual skill of summoning a clown head that produces a random weapon. It can be a firearm or a huge scythe that cuts everyone around in half.
