Shifting to the casual title?
Brawlhalla is a deeply competitive game, even beyond the pro esports tournament. Unlike other titles in the platformer-fighting sub-genre, it feels like this one was built with the competition in mind.
Still, Blue Mammoth Games, the creators of Brawlhalla, somewhat shift a massive focus on esports. The prize pool decreased substantially a couple of years ago. The regional competition gets somewhat less hype. Even the Royales are smaller this year.
We still had an unusual Max Mode tournament and the Mid-Season Championship as part of CEO 2025. The esports life of Brawlhalla is very alive.
At the same time, the game has been getting more casual-oriented activities, like Guilds for the fun competition. Some really awesome crossover events happen regularly: with Star Wars, Borderlands, Destiny, and more. Such an approach should balance Brawlhalla nicely and build up its long life in the future.
The newest Legend joined the game right before the World Championship 2025: Lady Vera. This means we are unlikely to get info on the next character — unless it’s a new weapon, like it was with Chakram at BCX 2024.
The reveal of the next competitive season is pretty much certain! Let’s enjoy the streams and discover what Brawlhalla esports has prepared for us in its Year 11.
