Her jealousy over Paracelsus is back and more violent than ever.

The newest character coming to Guilty Gear Strive is ABA, a returning favorite from the XX series. Arc System Works finally revealed the character on Mar. 20, 2024, after teasing her outline through social media.

The character was completely forgotten during the Xrd series, but the new redesign has fans excited about her unique gameplay. Here’s everything we know about ABA’s return to Guilty Gear.

ABA will release on Mar. 26 as the third DLC character of Guilty Gear Strive Season 3. Strive’s developer finally peeled back the curtain at the Arc World Tour 2023 Finals. The trailer shows off her redesign, which trades her short orange hair for a long teal hairdo.

Her medical theme returns with plenty of bloody bandages trailing along her silhouette. Her giant key, named Paracelsus, appears the same with a huge fidelity upgrade compared to Accent Core +R.

ABA gameplay revealed for Guilty Gear Strive

The Guilty Gear Strive ABA reveal came with a trailer that shows off her unique fighting style that uses her lover Paracelsus as a living weapon.

ABA’s signature fighting style revolves around Paracelsus, a giant key monster that just so happens to be her lover. The pair fight as one, with ABA swinging Paracelsus around as he transforms into different forms.

She appears to be a close-range pressure character who can power up using a certain special that turns Paracelsus black. She has big normals with no apparent projectile, which points to a close-ranged archetype.

As for metered options, the trailer shows off a new version of Evidence: Concealment that appears to be a mid-range combo ender. The massive projectile could be a useful tool for securing wall breaks. In typical Strive fashion, the end of the trailer cuts off ABA’s second super.

It is likely a cinematic damage super with Paracelsus transforming into a new red form with a giant jaw. Moroha Mode from the XX series is probably gone, but it could live on through some type of custom command super. Strive fans will have to wait for the official starter guide or the release on Mar. 26 to learn the intricacies of her kit.
