Esports World Cup and Amazon Prime Video joined forces for a five-part documentary with the behind-the-scenes of the tournament in 2024. It is called Level Up, and it's dropping soon. Here are all the details about it.

The Esports World Cup: Level Up brings the biggest names in competitive gaming to the screen while offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the inaugural 2024 tournament. Produced by The Machine and directed by R.J. Cutler, who is best known for Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry (2021) and Elton John: Never Too Late (2024), this five-part documentary vividly captures the intensity, passion, and personalities that define the global esports phenomenon. Furthermore, here are some of the key personalities featured in the project:

In a press release, Cutler revealed that it was the compelling human stories unfolding within this high-stakes arena that drove him to the Esports World Cup. He explained, “Level Up isn’t just about the incredible competition and prize money; rather, it’s about the dedication, the passion, and the sheer will of these athletes and teams pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”

When is the documentary out?

You can watch the Esports World Cup: Level Up documentary on the Amazon Prime Video platform starting June 6. New episodes will drop weekly, gradually building anticipation leading up to the Esports World Cup 2025. Additionally, the documentary will be available in over 240 countries worldwide.

As for the tournament itself, it will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 8 to August 24. The Club Championship awards a $27 million prize pool to the top 16 organizations, with the winning team claiming $7 million.
