G2 FC will compete in the new German division of Kings League, a sveen-a-side football league founded by Gerard Piqué in 2022. This is the sixth domestic league in the competition, following Spain, Americas, Brazil, Italy, and France. The league will start on April 12 with a qualification series for the Kings World Cup.
Kings League Germany will have eight teams in total. G2 FC is based in Berlin and will have two Berliners at the helm. Ron Stublla, previously a player in the Youth Bundesliga, will be G2 FC's team manager. Meanwhile, Malik Haziavdic, a previous member of the German National Futsal team, will be the team's coach.

The football club's reveal is in time for G2 Esports' 10th year anniversary. With the move to traditional sports, they aim to "look ahead to the future with plans to continue and diversify [their] expansion."
“When G2 was created 10 years ago, the dream was to build the ‘Real Madrid of esports.' We wanted to be known as a disruptive brand that’s not only competitively successful, but also has a great personality that knows how to entertain and captivate our fans through storytelling and community building," says G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte.
"Now, 10 years later, we are the ‘Real Madrid of esports, ’ so it’s time for us to go one step further and become the ‘G2 of sports.' Esports has a unique way of connecting with and engaging our passionate fanbase and now it’s our opportunity to show traditional sports how we do things, the G2 way.”
As of the time of writing, no information about the starting roster has been announced. However, the org shared that they have already completed tryouts, and the roster reveal is coming soon.
