The Edufuturists Awards is a yearly event that recognizes organizations and individuals who are making a significant impact in education. This year's iteration of it is slated for June 26 at the 53two theater in Manchester. British Esports' nomination is thanks to its role in creating an academic pathway in esports.

The impact of British Esports in education

The Pearson and British Esports partnership, in particular, features a curriculum with vocational qualifications. The suite of BTEC Qualification in Esports now has more than 15,000 students across more than 200 global institutions.

According to British Esports, the pathway also begins with the Student Champs 2024-2025 circuit, which is a grassroots esports competition that champions competitive play, transferable digital skills, and personal growth. So far, this initiative has engaged more than 20,000 students. Additionally, the federation's Esports Leadership Programme helps students pursue careers in the esports industry.

Kalam Neale, the head of education at British Esports, said that the federation is proud to be recognized by the Edufuturists Awards. Neale also noted the impact of their esports curriculum in "enhancing learning outcomes and student engagement."

“We hope that more innovators will see the benefits of an esports curriculum and join the digital revolution that’s developing future ready students with critical skills," he added.

The winners of Edufuturists Awards 2025 will be determined through expert judging and public voting. The latter poll will close on May 8.
