A global tournament with $100,000 has been announced for every nostalgic HoN fan out there!
The Heroes of Newerth: Reborn community is getting a $100,000 tournament! The HoN team announced the news through their social media channels and confirmed that it’s open for everyone. Also, the game is close to hitting the Open Beta goal.
Kongor Studios, which is in charge of this relaunch, raised almost $450,000 on its fundraiser in record time. This success proves that the community behind one of the first MOBAs in history is alive and thriving for more.
We got in touch with Nick "Breakycpk" Caras, a former HoN caster who joined Kongor Studios for their Reborn campaign ahead of this massive tournament. He's the Director of Communications for the upcoming game and gave us this exclusive interview.

About the current state of the game
esports.gg: How’s the game going so far? Could you share an approximate number of active users and how the community has been responding?
Breakycpk: It is honestly going great. We have thousands of active users daily in what is still our closed beta, with no NDA lift yet, so we are very excited about the traction the game has received already and what is to come.
I saw the project raised nearly $450,000. Congratulations! Were you expecting that level of support from the community?
The community support through our Genesis campaign has been amazing to see. We knew there would be interest in the project, of course, but it is fair to say it has even exceeded our expectations and has made us all here at Kongor Studios thrilled knowing we are working on a project with such support.

Which regions will be eligible to sign up for the HoN Reborn tournament?
We don't have exact details to share just yet on our $100k tournament; however, I can say we intend it to be a global event that will be online. As the same before with HoN, we want to make sure we give an opportunity to all to compete in HoN: Reborn.
Are there any tentative dates you can share? They don’t have to be exact, just for reference.
We don't have tentative dates to give just yet, but this is planned to be a tournament to take place during the Open Beta!
You mentioned you’ll be casting the tournament. Which channel should fans follow to catch all the action?
I absolutely will be casting the event, and I can't wait for that, but there is still a lot of work to be done before we get to that point. Again, no specific information just yet, but I will say Honcast is likely to be brought back for our competitive "hub" for HoN: Reborn.
One user expressed concern about payments. How can you ensure participants feel confident that you'll handle everything securely for the HoN Reborn Tournament?
The tournament will be taking place through Juvio, which we have already shown with a $1000 event hosted, [allowing] for immediate payments to take place as soon as the event is finished.

Heroes of Newerth: Reborn will be free to play for everyone attending Dreamhack Stockholm, scheduled for Nov. 28-30. However, the crowdfunding campaign is still up. There, you can join the "Warrior Tier" and try the game for one dollar.
