Will there be a Zero Day Season 2? Here is what co-creator Noah Oppenheim had to say about it.
Zero Day is a Netflix series where a former U.S. President is pulled out of retirement to investigate a cyberattack. As he digs deeper, he discovers conspiracies and a web of lies. The series is created by Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and Michael S. Schmidt, and the first season stars Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, and Lizzy Caplan. Zero Day Season 2 release date
According to co-creator Oppenheim, "there’s no active plan at this moment" for Zero Day Season 2. He revealed this in an interview where he added that he, Newman, and Schmidt do discuss potential future developments for the characters such as Alexandra Mullen and Speaker Dreyer.
"I think we all feel like we have told what is right now a complete story. That being said, it's a group of people that happen to like each other a great deal and we all had a great experience making it. So Eric and I and Mike often will chat about what would happen. What does happen to Alexandra Mullen, what does happen to Speaker Dreyer the next day? But there's no active plan at this moment," Oppenheim told TheWrap.
Will there be a Zero Day Season 2?
In the same interview, De Niro shared his thoughts as well. He noted that he isn't sure if a Zero Day Season 2 would continue the storyline with his character. He then added that Oppenheim, Newman, and Schmidt could create something special if they wish to go for another season.
"I don’t know whether it would be a continuation of the situation with the character," De Niro informed TheWrap. "It could very well be an interesting second part of what we’re going through. Of course, there’s a lot of ways to go and everything is moving so fast, but it’s not out of the question. I mean, with Eric and Noah Oppenheim and Mike Schmidt, they could very, very easily, in some ways, come up with something that’s special. We all would agree on that."
