On August 1, Solo Leveling: Arise revealed Sung Jinah as an upcoming character of the game. She is joining the game as a new SSR Hunter, complete with her exclusive weapon, Blue Monsoon. Players can unlock her through the Rate Up Draw and test out her abilities in the Hunter Preview mode. Classified as a Wind Mage, Jin-Ah debuts with a vibrant summer-themed outfit, available in three different color variations.
We also had the reveal of a new webtoon called Hunter: Origin Sung Jinah, where Jin-Woo's sister awakens as a hunter in a new Solo Leveling universe. If you don't remember, in the anime, Sung Jinah was not a hunter. She was aiming to become a doctor, so she could find a cure for her mother's disease.
In the new webtoon, we dive into a parallel universe where Sung Jinah awakens as a hunter after encountering an orc monster that ended up killing one of her friends. Disappointed for not being able to protect her friend, she promises to get stronger and avenge her.
Even though she isn't a hunter in the original universe, it's clear that strength runs in the family. The story wraps up on an inspiring note, though it’s unclear whether more updates are planned. In the meantime, fans can continue following the Solo Leveling universe through the sequel manhwa, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, which had its second season officially confirmed this week.
