A new look at the upcoming Superman movie, directed by James Gunn, has been released. However, some are starting to criticize the appearance of the actor playing Superman.
A new Superman trailer dropped, with a special showcase during the Chiefs vs Bills game, and while many are excited about James Gunn's take on the heroic story, some are scrutinizing how Superman looked during the trailer.
New Superman trailer showcases the hero flying — what is wrong with his eyes?
A new Superman teaser trailer shocked the world today (and personally, I think it looks amazing), but many noticed something unusual with the famous caped hero's eyes.
In one of the earlier shots in the trailer, we see a close-up of Superman's face as he is flying, except something seems off. The character, played by David Corenswet, looks to have his right eye looking in a different direction than forward, while his left eye is looking straight ahead.
Many have begun to speculate whether or not this was intentional or an accident, but James Gunn decided to speak up on the matter.
"There is absolutely zero CG in his face," said Gunn in a response on social media. "People's faces can look different when you put a wide-angle lens up close."
Gunn, who excels at mixing CGI with practical effects, also made it clear that this shot was real, too.
"The background plate in Svalbard is 100% real as is David."
Nothing beats seeing a director mix reality with CGI.

Not only did we get to see Superman in flight during the new trailer showcased on TV, but we also got another look at Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
The infamous bald supervillain is shown exiting some sort of advanced plane or helicopter in the middle of a tundra. While rocking some sweet shades, the villain is also equipped with a heavy winter coat, giving off quite an ominous vibe.
The movie is set to release on July 11, 2025, so mark your calendars.
