Logan Paul revealed in a podcast that Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes him $1.5 million from their 2021 bout. Here's why.
American fighter and online personality Logan Paul revealed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes him $1,500,000 from their 2021 boxing match. He tells the story of what happened and why he thinks he’ll never see the owed money.
Why Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes Logan Paul
First, some important context. Mayweather and Paul clashed in a crossover exhibition boxing match on June 6, 2021. The fight, billed as “Bragging Rights,” was exactly for that: Bragging Rights. There wasn’t even a winner announced, but the general consensus had Money as the winner.
Now, almost 5 years later, Paul went as a guest on the financial podcast Iced Coffee Hour and aired out the debt.
“I didn’t make as much money fighting Floyd [Mayweather Jr.],” Paul told the hosts. “He still owes me a million and a half.”
“[Floyd] pre-sold the fight using my likeness to some company in… I think Dubai or the Middle East, for $10 million cash. We ended up doing the fight in the States with a different company,” Paul continued.
The fight happened in the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. If Paul is telling the truth, then there was a world where the bout happened in the Middle East instead.
“He sold our fight, with my name and likeness, to someone else in Dubai for $10 million cash. It’s our fight – our deal was 15%. He smoked me.”

He also talked about Mayweather Jr.’s potential legal battles with the company he dealt with. “That company that paid him that money is now suing him. I don’t know the status of that lawsuit, but he has a bunch of legal trouble at the moment,” Paul added.
The fight reportedly generated over $80 million in revenue. If he is telling the truth, then Paul was played out of a large amount of money.
However, his standing with the general public is not exactly positive. He has been caught in controversy after controversy, affecting his image and reliability.
He was involved in a rugpull back in 2021-2022. One of his projects, CryptoZoo, was viewed as essentially a crypto-based scam, and now that he’s down over a million dollars, many people online think that what goes around comes around.

Just recently, he sold a record-breaking Pikachu Illustrator card for over $16 million, but many people online are questioning the legitimacy of the card and certification.
