Dune Part 2 welcomes Austin Butler and Christopher Walken to the Dune universe and hits theatres on March 1, 2024.

Following the success of "Dune" (2021) direct by Denis Villeneuve, Dune Part 2 will continue to follow the journey of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), who finds himself united with the Fremen in the desert of Arrakis.

The original film scored 83% on Rotten Tomatoes and was praised for its set pieces and visuals. The second entry, which covers the second half of the 1985 science fiction novel by Frank Herbert, will introduce many key characters played by the likes of Christopher Walken and Austin Butler.

Dune Part 2 Release Date

Dune Part 2 is set for release in theatres in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom on March 1, 2024. However, the movie's release date is on February 28 & 29 in certain countries.

Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides: Award-winning actor Timothée Chalamet reprises his role as Paul Atreides, the young heir to House Atreides who becomes embroiled in the political intrigue of Arrakis.

Zendaya as Chani: Zendaya reprises her role as Chani, a Fremen warrior and love interest to Paul Atreides. Zendaya's appearance in the first Dune film was brief, despite being a prominent part of the marketing for the film. Expect her to play a much bigger role this time around.

Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica: Rebecca Ferguson returns as Lady Jessica, Paul's mother and a member of the mysterious Bene Gesserit sisterhood.

Austin Butler as na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen: Austin Butler plays Feyd-Rautha, nephew and heir to Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård), the main antagonist of the novel.

Christopher Walken: A legend of Hollywood Christopher Walken plays Emperor Shaddam IV, a key figure in the Frank Herbert's Dune novel. Although Emperor Shaddam IV did not appear in the first movie, he will be pivotal in Dune Part 2.

Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto: Oscar Isaac portrays Duke Leto Atreides, Paul's father and the ruler of House Atreides. Isaac's commanding presence and charisma make him a perfect fit for the role of the noble and principled leader. The American is best known for playing Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and more recently Marc Spector in Marvel's Moon Knight series on Disney+.

Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck: Josh Brolin reprises his role as Gurney Halleck, the loyal warrior and mentor to Paul Atreides. Let's be honest though, he'll always be Thanos to us.

Javier Bardem as Stilgar: The Academy Award winner Javier Bardem returns as Stilgar, the leader of the Fremen tribe on Arrakis.

Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan: Florence Pughportrays Princess Irulan, a member of the imperial family and a key player in the politics of the universe whose character makes her debut in Dune Part 2. Although in the original novel Princess Irulan is a supporting character, she's expected to play a bigger role in the upcoming movie.

Even if you haven't read the novel, Dune Part 2 looks set to be one of the biggest movies of 2024 so far.
