The International 2023is in full swing and the first stage is ending. The event kicked off with 16 teams and the first few stages focused solely on ensuring the seeding for the Main event. After a few days of some intense competition, here are the seedings for TI13 Playoffs.

The International Group Stage results

The Group stage took place over two days from September 4 to the 5th of the month. There were four groups with four teams in each group. All matches were best of two series and the top two teams in each group matched with the 3rd or 4th place teams in the opposite group. This means teams from Group A would match with teams from Group B and same for C and D.

Here are the results for the Group stage of TI13

Group A

Group B

Group D

  2. Team Liquid [2-0-1]
  3. Aurora [1-0-2]

The teams will then go on to face off against each other in the Seeding stage. Here are the matchups for the seeding stage that will determine the teams’ placement in the Playoffs.

  3. Cloud9 vs 1W Team
  4. Team Zero vs Aurora
  5. Team Falcons vs beastcoast
  6. Tundra Esports vs HEROIC

  8. Gaimin Gladiators vs G2 x iG

The winners from each of these matches will secure their spot in the upper bracket quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the losers will have to compete it out in the Lower Bracket Round 1. The lower bracket means they are on the brink of elimination and will have no chance of making a mistake. The teams in the upper bracket, can still lose and still survive the tournament if they win their subsequent matches. 

This year, The International 2024 is taking place in Copenhagen. It has a $2.4 million prize pool and features the best teams in action. With the next year set to feature new tournament organizers coming in to host Dota 2 events, it will be interesting to see which team stamps their authority on this era of Dota 2.
