The new format also affected how the schedule works, making us meet the first two Top 8 teams that will play from the lower brackets.

The International 2024's first elimination day started, and four teams left the competition after two rounds of Lower Brackets. As we know, this phase is still part of what Valve has called "Road to The International," which means none of these teams played in front of a crowd. Also, the new format forced two teams to play two times to reach the Top 8.

However, the remaining two teams playing the Main Event are still unknown; and will be playing on Sept. 10. The eliminated teams in the different brackets are:

BetBoom Team sent Talon and nouns to an early elimination on TI13

The now called Big Bananas Team (the casters had to make up new names for BB Team following Denmark's betting sponsor's regulations) started the day fighting for their lives against Talon Esports, Group B's last place team. Even though the odds were in their favor, the SEA team managed to tie the series with an unexpected comeback.

Despite the last game being a stomp in favor of the Eastern Europeans, that elimination Game 2 will leave a mark in The International 2024's history.

Vitalie "Save-" Melnic later said that he beat them with a $5 USD mouse. Absolute chad. He would later face and defeat NA's last hope with the same piece of cheap plastic.

And, as we said, nouns esports was their second victim during TI13 elimination round 2. After two one-sided games, the North American team lost every teamfight they engaged. During the second game, they used every single resource they had to kill a Snapfire support. While they got it in the end, BB Team wiped them shortly after.

1win came in strong, until they met the Falcons

On the other TI13 elimination brackets, the dark horse showdown was taking place. Team Zero and 1win esports was the game nobody expected. The Chinese team managed to secure some of the current meta's favorite heroes. However, 1win had a response for every single pick they presented. It wasn't a spectacular match, but the memes saved the day with a 3-22 final score.

Unfortunately, they were given a dose of their own medicine. Team Falcons were patiently waiting for their elimination game, and they were not planning to leave The International 2024 early. Featuring the shortest game of the day, and two jaw-dropping stomps, the Falcons easily secured their Top 8 spot.

Here's one beautiful bait from Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, dragging the whole 1win hopes and dreams to a deadly trap.

The International 2024 eliminations continue, with Heroic and Beastcoast meeting for the first game of the day, followed by Team Spirit vs G2.iG. Come back for the best results (and clips) of the next Lower Brackets games!
