Taiga has been placed on the inactive roster of OG and is reportedly exploring his options outside of OG ahead of TI12 qualifiers.

Tommy "Taiga" Le has been moved to the inactive roster of the OG Dota 2 roster as part of a reshuffle ahead of the team’s TI12 campaign. The move was announced on August 1 in a social post on OG’s official accounts.

According to the post, Taiga will be able to explore his options ahead of the TI12 qualifiers, meaning we may see the OG support join another roster.

Taiga has been with OG for just over one and a half years, joining the roster in December of 2021 for the OGA Dota PIT Season 5: Europe/CIS event. He became a staple of the roster, and part of the line-up that won the ESL One Stockholm Major, and headed to The International 2022 with high expectations.

However, after a respectable 7th-8th place finish, that OG line-up failed to recapture the magic in 2023. The team missed all three majors and settled into a role as the fifth-best team in Western Europe, one that would see them fall short of a direct TI12 invite. Taiga departs just weeks before the start of TI12 WEU Regional Qualifiers.

Ceb back to OG for regional qualifiers

The move comes just days after the announcement of Sébastien "Ceb" Debs extended return to the OG roster. Ceb had initially only signed on to fill in during the Riyadh Masters. But evidently something was working, as on July 30, it was announced that Ceb would be filling in for Regional Qualifiers and beyond.

However, this still leaves the OG roster with just four players and four weeks until the start of regional qualifiers. Taiga’s departure is inopportune to say the least, but one could expect many eager players looking for a chance to head to TI12 might be willing to take his place.

Current OG Roster:

  • Pos 1: Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev
  • Pos 2: Bozhidar “BZM” Bogdanov
  • Pos 3: Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin
  • Pos 4/5: *TBD*
  • Pos 4/5: Sébastien "Ceb" Debs

OG takes part in the The International 2023 - Western Europe Qualifier on August 27. There the squad will face 12 other teams as they attempt to secure one of two spots at TI12
