NAVI has announced the return of the legendary captain puppey for Dream League S24 qualifiers and upcoming tournaments.

NAVI has officially announced their new Dota 2 roster for DreamLeague Season 24 and other upcoming tournaments. The roster features current players and temporary stand-ins, including the return of TI1 champion and former NAVI legendary captain, Clement "Puppey" Ivanov.

Puppey returns NAVI to stand in for qualifiers

According to NAVI’s announcement, Dmytro "nefitri" Tarasich and Arman "Malady" Orazbayev will temporarily step back from the main roster. Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan and legendary captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov will stand in for the upcoming qualifiers.

Puppey, who led NAVI to three TI finals, will replace Malady. This return is special for NAVI fans as Puppey left NAVI a decade ago to form Team Secret, achieving great success in Dota 2. Secret won multiple Majors and reached the finals of The International 2022. However, after midlaner player Nisha left, Secret struggled, and they were eliminated early in this year’s TI qualifiers.

NAVI’s temporary new roster

The updated roster will compete in the DreamLeague S24 Eastern Europe qualifiers and other upcoming tournaments. The full NAVI lineup for DreamLeague S24 is as follows:

  • Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev
  • Sukhbat "sanctity-" Otgondavaa
  • Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan (stand-in)
  • Bakyt "Zayac" Emilzhanov
  • Clement "Puppey" Ivanov (stand-in)
  • Vitalii "Sword_Art" Petkin (coach)

The future of NAVI Dota 2

NAVI’s announcement labels BOOM and Puppey as stand-ins, but the phrase “upcoming tournaments” hints they may be on trial to see if they will stay. Notably, both BOOM and Puppey have played in the WEU region, but they will relocate to the EEU region this time. It would be a good opportunity to see different regions and styles that might create a unique team dynamic. DreamLeague S24 qualifiers start this week, so don’t miss the action if you’re interested!
