ODPixel Rap God extraordinaire releases “Hype” music track for AniMajor (Video and Lyrics inside)

Owen “ODPixel” Davies returns with another banger, this time as part of the WePlay AniMajor. The new track called Hype might be his best yet, and WePlay filmed a wild music video specifically for the song.

On the final day of the Dota 2 AniMajor, tournament organiser WePlay released an official music video produced by caster Owen "ODPixel" Davies. The new ODPIxel rap is called "Hype", and is accompanied by a brilliantly ridiculously music video featuring Dota 2 talent's Richard Campbell, Neal "tsunami" Khandheria and Brian "BSJ" Canavan. ODPixel has been working the event from home, but that did not stop him stepping in to save the day during a freak power cut at the venue.

ODPixel is affectionally nicknamed the Rap God for his quick delivery during casts, a reference to the 2013 track "Rap God" by Eminem, where the American rapper delivers lyrics at unfathomable speed. This is of course not the first ODPixel rap, in fact there have been a couple of others. The first most notable one was at the Manila Major with SirActionSlacks. Meanwhile, in September 2020 while working the WePlay OmegaLeague, ODPixel gifted the Dota 2 communiy a track called Techies, which like Hype, features Brian "BSJ" Canavan in a Banana suit.

ODPIXEL RAP - Hype (Lyrics)

[Chorus]
They love me for the casting
Line after line that I spit everlasting
Bringing them the hype with the power then blasting
Riding on this beat, with the fire that I'm starting

Outsmarting the haters that say I'm too low for the game
Even though they all know why they mention my name
When they try to come at me to discount my fame
I just say shut up, sit down as I ready my aim

[Verse 1]
Calm with the stat bro, keen with the meme team
Hot for the scene, a machine when it comes to the pace,
I'll erase you fast like a Phase, Euls, Yasha max Storm Surge Razor
I’ll taze ya, major control of your skill as I farm at my will,
stone gaze stand still, Better chill, Frostbite as your health starts to to spill,
Ice blast to your face, no chance to refill,

I’m in a rage, like a bear from the cage,
I’m straight to the stage, yea outplay, rampage,
Harder than a Sven God’s Strength engage,
Let me show you all my power with the money that I made,

Giants ring as I'm bigger than I've ever been before, one hit,
With a crit and your body hits the floor,
Cruising through your barracks right up till the tier 4,
Better get back in your fountain as I'm kicking in the door.

[Verse 2]
Pew pew with the tier 2, what you gonna do when my bear comes running after you,
Better dip into the trees start scrambling for TPs,
Got me sitting at half health but I'm munching on the cheese,
Heart racing as I'm riding on the thrill of your heart stopping
As you're flopping and you're dropping to the ground beneath my feet,
Fresh meat, you're beat, get back in your base,
The space was a waste as my teams giving chase to the rest of you scrubs

We level up, time to give up, we'll take the cup, you need to DC cos we're blowing up,
The title is ours you're just runner up,
We've mastered the game, we're bringing the flame, hurdles overcame,
We rise to acclaim, the rest of you players are all just the same,
So sit straight back down and go drown in your shame.

This is the second collaboration between ODPixel and WePlay, hopefully there are plenty more to come in the future. The previous collab track Techies was also produced with the mysterious "Deep T", who may have accidentally on-purpose shared his identity on Twitter.
