New Roshan Dota 2 locations in Patch 7.33

Did you know Roshan goes from one pit to another throughout the match? No, he doesn’t walk across the map, he uses the Twin Gates.

Dota 2 Roshan has received a new home in the 7.33 gameplay update. In fact, Roshan now has two homes and can randomly spawn in any of the locations. Gone are the days of teams waiting for Roshan to spawn and camping near Roshan. You have to be more dynamic and quick to move around the (much bigger map).

The new map is significantly bigger - 40% bigger - says Valve. The additional terrain is filled with new types of content and one of them is the Roshan pit location.

Roshan’s pit has historically been near the river. Initially, near the Dire side of the river, Valve shifted it to the top half (and slightly favoring the Radiant). But the Roshan advantage was always a determining factor when it came to pro games and drafts.

Seeking to eliminate this advantage once and for all required a complete map redesign. Ensuring the map would be perfectly symmetrical and the Roshan pits would not provide any advantage to either side is a momentous task. But Valve has done it. Here’s what’s new with Roshan’s pit in Dota 2 7.33.

Roshan’s pit is now in two locations - The top left corner of the map as well as the bottom right corner.

Previously, when the map was smaller, the top corner would be closer to the dire while the bottom pit would’ve been closer to the radiant. Now with the 40% bigger map, the pits are equidistant from both sides. No team has a distance advantage to the Roshan pits.

There is a Twin Gate next to the Roshan pit which allows teams to go from one side of the map to the other quickly. Twin Gates have a three-second channeling time which will take you to the other Roshan pit on the map.

The Roshan pit areas also have two new outposts, while the original ones have seen slight changes in their positions.

Roshan changes location from one pit to another throughout the match. He uses the Twin Gates to go to his "other abode."
