MOUZ returns to Dota 2 after a seven-year gap

MOUZ have announced a return to Dota 2 with a new roster and ImmortalFaith as the coach. The org returns to Valve’s MOBA esports scene after a gap of nearly seven years. With some new faces on this roster, it will be interesting to see how the team matches up.

MOUZ announces Dota 2 return

MOUZ has a long history in Dota 2, one that was cut short after the org announced its exit in 2017. The org had entered the Dota scene in 2007 when they picked up the Back to Basics roster. The team was extremely successful in 2008-09.

The org entered Dota 2 shortly after The International 2011 when they picked up a team featuring SingSing and others. However, they soon brought about changes replacing the roster with a new one - featuring the likes of KuroKy, Miracle, Twisted, and more.

The team tried out various iterations of Dota 2 rosters before taking a two-year hiatus after 2015. They returned in 2017 but failure

“After a long period of anticipation, we are thrilled to re-enter the realm of Dota 2,” stated CBDO Jan Dominicus. “The open tournament circuit, rich history, and great excitement present an ideal arena for MOUZ to leverage our collective strengths as a team.”

What is the MOUZ Dota 2 roster?

The MOUZ Dota 2 roster is as follows:

  • Stefan "Ulnit" Gavrila
  • Nikko "Force" Bilocura
  • Ravdan "NARMAN" Narmandakh
  • Jonathan "Bengan" Hansson
  • Ondřej "Supream^" Štarha

Ulnit has played for GEEK Fam in the past before moving on to a stack named Team Tickles. Infamous for playing the Position 1 carry role, he brings to the team raw skill and enthusiasm.

His teammate, Force also joins him on this journey. Having played together on GEEK Fam and Team Tickles, the synergy between these two players will be instrumental in the development of the new MOUZ roster.

The third core player for the team, according to the announcement is Narman. Touted as one of Mongolia’s finest Dota 2 players, this position 4 player will be crucial in developing the support strategy along with Force.

Force and Narman have already relocated to Hamburg, Germany, where MOUZ is based. This is their first project in Europe and playing in a different continent outlines their commitment to this project. Sweden’s Bengan and Czech Supream round out the MOUZ Dota 2 roster.

Heading the team will be coach Daniel "ImmortalFaith" Moza who has extensive experience in coaching and helping teams grow. The Romanian joined Nigma Galaxy as the Head Coach in 2022 before moving on to coach Geek Fam and later Team Tickles. This will be a brand new project for him and it will be interesting to see how the team develops under his coaching.
