Dota 2’s newest heroes have been waiting ages for their real facets.

"New" Dota 2 heroes Kez and Ringmaster have been facet-less for the better part of a year now, but with today's Wandering Waters 7.38 patch, the pair finally join their peers with new facets rolled out.

It's been an incredibly long wait for Ringmaster's facets, with the hero celebrating six months in Dota this week. The support hero already copped hefty nerfs after his release last August, but today with new facets to choose from, he prepares for his Captain's Mode debut at DreamLeague.

Kez players will have two avenues to choose from in their Dota 2 matches via Facets. The first, Flutter, grants bonuses immediately after switching between katana and sai.

With the katana equipped, Kez gains 12% more damage with the first attack or ability, while switching to his sai grants the hero extra movement speed for a short duration. Expect to see Kez players pick Flutter and build into Aghanim's Scepter for that Switch Discipline cooldown reset after using an ability.

The second facet, Shadowhawk, favors a more hit-and-run assassin playstyle. Triggering the Shodo Sai mark while invisible deals additional critical damage, and when triggering a mark, the cooldown of Shodo Sai and Kazurai Katana will be reduced.

While it's important to switch between sai and katana for the other abilities, Kez players can focus on hitting and triggering the mark for additional burst damage.

Ringmaster's base abilities remain untouched by facet choice, but his Dark Carnival Barker souvenirs will change depending on the facet picked.

The classic Ringmaster set of Funhouse Mirror, Strongman Tonic, and Whoopee Cushion are part of the Carny Classics facet. The new Sideshow Secrets facet includes three new souvenirs: Crystal Ball, Unicycle, and Weighted Pie.

The Crystal Ball works similarly to the Scan effect, marking an area and letting Ringmaster and his allies know if enemies are in the zone.

The Unicycle will be the most popular of the souvenirs; Ringmaster equips a unicycle and rides into battle at high speed. From there, he can throw a Weighted Pie that knocks enemies back and reduces their vision for a short while.

Ringmaster has also been enabled in Captain's Mode, meaning we'll finally be able to see pro players try the hero out on the biggest stage.

That's all for now, but we've got plenty more Dota 2 content on patch 7.38! Stay tuned to esports.gg for more.
