Four teams from South America will attend TI for the first time in history.

The second phase of TI12 Qualifiers concludes, and South America now has its full TI12 lineup. Regional favorites, Keyd Stars and Thunder Awaken, prevailed in the TI12 SA Qualifiers and successfully booked their tickets to Seattle, USA.

Keyd Stars soared in the TI12 SA Qualifier

Keyd Stars complete TI12 roster:

  • Guilherme "Costabile" Costábile
  • João "4nalog" Giannini
  • Gustavo "fcr" Ribeiro
  • Danylo "Kingrd" Nascimento
  • Matheus "KJ" Diniz

There are familiar South American stars in Keyd Stars, but not many people expected them to smash the South American TI12 Qualifier. Young pubstar, 4nalog is one of the most promising players in the region and previously played for Alliance.LATAM. Costabile is also a well-known player in SA. He previously played for NA's nouns and was a part of the 4 Zoomers, SG esports, and NoPing e-sports lineup.

In the TI12 SA Qualifier, Keyd Stars toppled SA favorites one by one. The all-Brazillian lineup defeated Mad Kings, Thunder Awaken, and Acatsuki to swiftly grab the first TI12 slot in South America.

"Hope you all are practicing how to say Costabile's name properly because I have a feeling you'll be saying it at TI soon enough," caster Moxxi posted on Twitter.

Thunder Awaken grabbed the last SA slot

Thunder Awaken's complete TI12 roster:

  • Aliaksei "Smiling Knight" Svirydau
  • Jordan "SLATEM$" Vega
  • Mario "LittleBoy" Valdivia
  • Rodrigo "n1ght" Cruz
  • Romel "Mjz" Quinteros

The final South American team is none other than Thunder Awaken. The name of this team has been uttered continuously throughout 2022, as they flourished in the Majors and even at TI11. But they face a little setback after their successful roster moved under Evil Geniuses' banner.

Moving forward with #NewThunder as their slogan, Thunder Awaken finds its footing with a new Dota 2 roster. "Thanks to all the people who have been supporting us since the beginning of this new project, 6 years behind esports in South America and we are going for more," Thunder Awaken posted.
