Do you have any idea how much easier it is to get the TI12 Collector’s Aegis in the 2023 Compendium? It’s 70 percent easier!

Amidst mixed reactions to the Dota 2 Compendium, there is one big improvement that Valve got right and that's the fact that the relative price of The International 2023 (TI12) Collector's Aegis is now much cheaper. So if you are an avid collector, this is the perfect Compendium to nab that beautiful, ocean blue-themed Aegis.

How much does it cost to acquire the TI12 Collector's Aegis?

The TI12 Collector's Aegis only takes 300 levels to acquire in this Compendium. This is a lot less than how it used to be. Previously, you needed a level 1000 Battle Pass to get the Aegis. Below is the cost breakdown to acquire the Aegis in the current Compendium:

Compendium
Price
Starting Level
Level Bundles
Total Levels
Total Cost
Standard$6.996 + 6 boosters3612 + 288$187
Upgraded$29.9950 + 28 boosters2878 + 224$170
Total Cost includes the starting Compendium

The total costs in the table above include the base price of the Compendium - $6.99 for Standard or $29.99 for Upgraded. For the Standard Compendium, you start with six levels and boosters whereas you get 50 levels and 28 boosters for the Upgraded one.

Assuming you do not play the Compendium challenges to acquire free levels, you can buy your way to the Collector's Aegis as usual. To do so, you will need to purchase level bundles which cost $4.99 per eight levels. With the starting levels and applied boosters, you will either spend a total of $187 with the Standard Compendium or $170 with the Upgraded one.

What are boosters?

The TI12 Compendium offers a variety of rewards other than the Collector's Aegis. Like the Battle Pass, increasing your Compendium level will unlock various rewards. The biggest difference, however, is the interface. What used to be rewards stacked in a straight line are now spread across under one page. The reason Valve has done this are Compendium Boosters.

Boosters are not the same as purchasing levels. By purchasing levels, you will increase the levels toward all rewards in your Compendium. On the other hand, Boosters only apply to only ONE reward within the Compendium. Fortunately, whichever reward that you apply a booster to will also affect the Collector's Aegis. For example, if you use boosters to increase four levels on the Player Sticker Capsule reward, you will also get the same amount of levels toward the Collector's Aegis.

How does the Compendium compare to the Battle Pass in acquiring the Collector's Aegis?

When all is said and done, the TI12 Compendium offers a much easier path toward getting the Collector's Aegis. As mentioned before, you will only need to spend a maximum of $187 being that it only takes 300 levels. The Battle Pass, however, required 1000 levels. Below is a breakdown of how much you will need to spend to reach level 1000. Once again, this is under the assumption that you do not partake in the Battle Pass challenges to acquire free levels.

Battle Pass
Price
Level Bundles
Total Levels
Total Cost
Standard (Level 1)$9.991251+1000$634
Level 50$29.3511950+952$623
Level 100$44.99113100+904$609
Total Cost includes the starting Battle Pass. Level bundles cost $4.99 as well

As you can see, it is a lot cheaper now to acquire the TI12 Collector's Aegis. You can get up to around 70 percent discount with the TI12 Compendium. And this is without playing the challenges such as the Road to TI challenge or the Bingo game!
