Here’s all you need to know about the LAN event.

Gamers Galaxy has announced a $250,000 Dota 2 LAN tournament in Thailand. The event will bring the best teams in Dota 2 together in SEA and will be one of the final SEA events before TI11.

The tournament will take place over a three-day period from August 18-20, 2022. With eight teams in participation, the event kicks off the Dota 2 SEA season followed by ESL One Malaysia and concludes with TI11 in Singapore. The International 11 is the biggest event in the Dota 2 calendar and last yearโ€™s event featured a prize pool of more than $40 million.

Where is Gamers Galaxy Thailand taking place?

The Gamers Galaxy Thailand Dota 2 event will take place on the 5th floor of HatYai Hall โ€“ Central Hatyai with free access to all.ย

The event requires people to carry their certificates of vaccination and identity cards including passport for foreigners and Thai National Identity card for Thailand nationals. However, the website also says unvaccinated people will be allowed after undergoing a negative test on the Antigen Rapid Test (ART).

The in-venue broadcast will be in Thai but Dota 2 fans can expect English broadcast on Twitch. The organizer has not yet announced the teams invited but we can expect some popular Dota 2 teams in attendance.

The $150,000 tournament has also partnered with the Sports Authority of Thailand along with others. Due to COVID protocols, food and drinks wonโ€™t be available inside the venue, although thereโ€™s plenty of options outside for attendees..

Gamers Galaxy previously hosted the first Dota 2 LAN of 2022 featuring big names such as OG, VP, BOOM esports, FPX and more. The success of that tournament bodes well for the Thailand event which takes place just before ESL One Malaysia. We will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
