The squad that placed 2nd in the stacked Western Europe Division 1 have finally found themselves a sponsor.

Team Tickles have been acquired by the Gaimin Gladiators, just days before the Regional Finals kicks off. Tickles had a tremendous run in the recent WEU DPC Tour 1, coming out second overall. With their stellar results and solid teamplay, many in the scene mused it would only be a matter of time before they were picked up.

Lo and behold, the news of their acquisition was announced on the Gaimin Gladiators Twitter account just earlier today - with a hype teaser video to boot.

While Tickles will play under the new Gladiators banner, the roster remains unchanged. The Gaimin Gladiators Dota 2 roster consists of:

  • Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov Carry (Pos 1)
  • Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan Mid (Pos 2)
  • Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard: Offlane (Pos 3)
  • Erik “tOfu” Engel: Soft Support (Pos 4)
  • Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp (Captain/IGL), Hard Support (Pos 5)
  • Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza (Coach)

Gaimin Gladiators want to go the distance

While last-minute acquisitions before major tournaments aren’t anything out of the blue, Gaimin Gladiators are choosing to go a different direction. According to the release on their website, the organization has looked to work with the team for the last few months, as they’ve shown they can go toe-to-toe with the best.

We are very excited to join Gaimin Gladiators!

It's a great opportunity for us to showcase what we can do, keep learning and building together.

Their goal is to grow with the team and support them throughout the year. With their sights set on The International, the team plans on competing in multiple events and tournaments, and additionally produce content as they go along. This is a stark contrast to what other organizations have done in the past - simply “bandwagoning” on a team’s hot streak to get a piece of the pie. In any case, this only bodes well for the scene.

The Regional Finals Ahead

While fans of the squad will have a few days left before the long-awaited Regional Finals, the team will be playing under their new Gaimin Gladiators banner in the D2CL Season 7 on Tuesday, 8th Feb against Gambit. The matches will be available to watch on Twitch here.

Gaimin Gladiators will face-off against Team Tundra to open the Regional Finals on the 11th Feb. You can find out everything you need to know about the Regional Finals here
