Are the Gaimin Gladiators making a comeback?
Gaimin Gladiators (GG), the team that dominated multiple tournaments in 2023 before disbanding in 2025, is reportedly planning a return to the Dota 2 scene with a new roster from South America.
In an X post on Jan. 12, Gaimin Gladiators posted something in Spanish, which roughly translates to “announcements coming soon.” A few days later, rumors started to circulate online about the supposed roster of the team.
Gaimin Gladiators’ possible new roster for 2026
Due to internal conflicts, the Gaimin Gladiators made the hard decision of disbanding its team just before The International 2025 due to internal conflicts, primarily between the players and the organization’s leadership.
The team’s original lineup featured players who are now considered all-time greats in their respective roles, having won every major tournament in 2023. However, they fell just short of claiming the Aegis at The International 2024, finishing in a close second place after losing to Team Spirit.

A few months after the team’s disbandment, reports are mentioning the following players who would participate in 2026 tournaments under GG’s banner:
- Carry: David "Parker" Nicho Flores
- Mid Lane: Gonzalo "DarkMago" Herrera
- Offlane: Frank "Frank" Ayala
- Soft Support: Elvis "Scofield" Peña
- Hard Support: Yelsthin "Elmisho" Hurtado
The rumored new roster is expected to come from Perú Rejects, a team that found early success after winning the South American qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 28. Two of its Peruvian players, Parker and Scofield, already have a Tier 1 title to their names after winning PGL Wallachia Season 2 while playing for HEROIC.

For now, it’s important to take the information above with a grain of salt, since as of writing, the Gaimin Gladiators still haven’t made an official announcement yet on whether they’ll actually return in Dota 2. We’ll provide updates as the story develops.
