Ex-nouns tried to stay together, but disbands after ESL qualifiers

NA lost another team: the ex-nouns roster is now disbanding, with most of the team looking for a new home,

North America is going through a crisis that seems to be far from the end. Shopify Rebellion, the last sponsored team of the region, managed to secure a spot for the next ESL Pro Tour tournament. This was a huge blow for Atlantic City, also known as ex-nouns, leading to a full disband.

Despite losing their sponsor, the team decided to keep playing together for the rest of the season. But the mental burden of playing without an organization, and the added costs of sustaining a team by themselves, were enough to break them. This was confirmed by the team captain, Tal "Fly" Aizik, on X:

Our last series was not a good reflection of each of our individual potential.

Fly also mentions that "recent tournament results compounded with the recent loss of org ended up in low morale and confidence." The team managed to beat Shopify Rebellion during their Upper Bracket run. However, this wasn't the case for the Grand Finals, where they lost by 3-0.

Most North American teams are playing Dota 2 as a hobby, and others come from different parts of the world. The situation in the region is so unprofessional, that the vast majority of teams don't even feature a logo.

The ex-nouns roster leaves behind a legacy of dominance in the North American region, beating their rivals, Shopify Rebellion, multiple times during regional qualifiers. And also, they showed a very promising performance during this year's The International, sending the two-time TI winners, Team Spirit, to the Lower Brackets with a clean 2-0.

What's next for the ex-nouns roster after their disband?

Following Fly's statement, the rest of the team expressed their focus for the rest of the season. The first one was Rodrigo "Lelis" Santos, the soft support from Brazil. He was short and concise about his desire to keep playing and is actively looking for a team.

After changing roles from the mid-lane to become an offlaner, Gunnar is back to streaming. This is something he mentioned that he missed before their decision to disband, and nouns was just leaving the Dota 2 competitive scene. Make sure to follow him on Twitch!

Copy, their mid laner, is looking forward to reach 15K MMR; and coach DoublA's future is still uncertain. However, Yuma already found a team to compete with: the South American squad HEROIC. The team is swimming through a wave of drama after they decided to release their former hard carry Parker, with whom they won the PGL Wallachia S2. Their next tournament is the BLAST Slam, from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1.

Last but not least, Fly's next move is also a mystery. The team's captain haven't mentioned any plans for the rest of the year, so keep following esports.gg for more updates about his next steps!
